In a late-night vote on Saturday, gun-grabbers in the Colorado House of Representatives passed three bills infringing on the right of the people to keep and bear arms.

The bills they passed are as follows:

HB24-1270 - “Firearm Liability Insurance Requirement”: This bill will require gun owners to maintain a liability insurance policy on their firearms.

HB24-1353 - “Firearms Dealer Requirements & Permit”: This bill will require firearm sellers to obtain a state permit in addition to their federal firearms licenses. The fee for the permit starts at $400 and will be increased annually.

HB24-1349 - “Firearms & Ammunition Excise Tax”: This bill will impose a 9% excise, or “sin,” tax on all firearms and ammunition.

The common theme among these bills is the imposition of unjust financial penalties aimed at nothing more than punishing us for participating in our constitutional right, and moral obligation, to bear arms.

By branding gun ownership as a “vice” to be taxed like cigarettes or marijuana, this legislative package denies the reality that gun ownership is a constitutional RIGHT which — by definition — cannot be a wrong.

These bills will now go to the Senate where the Colorado State Shooting Association (the official state association of the NRA) will continue our fight against them until they are dead. Follow this link to contact your Senator and demand they vote NO on these bills. If they pass the Senate and are signed into law, we will explore every legal option to overturn them.

We need your support. We have an all-volunteer board of directors and every penny we raise goes to the fight to defeat the anti-gun agenda.
