Two 9th Circuit Judges Again Re-impose a Temporary Injunction of California Extensive Ban on Conceal

There has been a lot of legal back and forth California’s new concealed handgun that law bans carrying guns in 26 new places; most public places, including public parks and playgrounds, churches, banks, and zoos, go into effect today (see the list below). Going into any business that doesn’t have a posted sign saying that you can carry, there would now be a crime in California. A district court judge had issued a preliminary injunction for the law, but then a three-judge panel took the unusual position of temporarily staying with the district court’s decision. Two of the judges on the panel were Democrats (Rawlinson (Clinton) and Hurwitz (Obama)), and one was a Republican (Bush). And then another circuit court panel reimposed the injunction until they are able to make a final decision can be made, probably this summer.
