New Mexico is Pushing New “Safe Storage” Anti-Second Amendment Legislation

The land of Enchantment is now being possessed by an anti-gun spirit that will likely recquire a pro-freedom exorcism for it to shake off.
On February 2, 2022, the House Judiciary Committee considered House Bill 9 by New Mexico State Representative Pamelya Herndon.
The legislation in question created civil fines and misdemeanor penalties for parents or guardians whose minors gain illegal access to their firearms. The only exception is in the case of burglary. This bill also features a provision that allows parents to take other parents to court to slap the $1,000 fine on them if they launch allegations of a minor gaining access to their firearms.
