Gun Owners Oppose Federal Tracking, Fear Confiscation

Most gun owners don’t want the U.S. government compiling information on Americans who own firearms, and believe this could lead to all weapons being confiscated.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 44% of Likely U.S. Voters think the federal government should keep track of who owns guns in the United States, while an equal number (44%) disagree and 12% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
