On December 12, 2021, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he plans on using a polemical U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Texas’ strict abortion law as the basis for creating a law that would let private citizens file lawsuits against gun manufacturers, distributors, and sellers.
Last week, the Supreme Court kept a Texas law in place that allows private citizens to file lawsuits against individuals who carry out or assist a woman in obtaining an abortion after roughly six weeks of pregnancy.
